Updated: 25/4/2020 | 12:11:48 PM
Western Nghe An is a UNESCO biosphere reserve, located in Nghệ An Province in the tropical and temperate zone of Vietnam, and on the border with Laos. The Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve is located in central Viet Nam in mountainous and remote area which is difficult to access. Its climate is strongly influenced by a north-east and south-west monsoon. The topography of the surrounding Annamite mountain range also impacts atmospheric circulation, resulting in significant climatic differences throughout the area. The region hosts some of the most diverse and rich flora and fauna in Viet Nam.
The forgotten princess
Nghe An, the largest province in Vietnam, is often mentioned with the famous Cua Lo beach. The east of Nghe An has been exploited and developed into a center of economy, politics, and culture of the province thanks to the advantage of being close to the sea and national highway 1. In contrast, the western part of the province is completely different from wilderness. Only when the Ho Chi Minh Road was built, this area was pulled out of the pristineness, in line with modern life. And thanks to that, an interesting place is gradually becoming known, that is Bay Tang waterfall in the mountainous district of Que Phong.
Although not as “vibrating the whole world” as Son Doong in Quang Binh, Bay Tang waterfall on the famous Huoi Dan stream also enchants the Vietnamese backpacking tourists. With the difficult terrain, there is no way before the appearance of Ho Chi Minh Road, few people came to this land. This has offered Que Phong the richest biosphere reserve in Vietnam, called Pu Hoat. The Bay Tang waterfall is located in the middle of the Pu Hoat forest, on the Huoi Dan stream that rises from Laos.
Located in such a secluded, Bay Tang ( Seven storey ) waterfall is like a lovely princess locked in a castle in the jungle, nobody knows. If you search Vietnam Tourist Information about the Bay Tang waterfall, almost nothing is mentioned except Sao Va waterfall in Que Phong.
Sao Va Va waterfall is famous but not as majestic as Bay Tang waterfall. Bay Tang waterfall is not a single waterfall, but rather a group of waterfalls with a larger scale like Ban Gioc waterfall. Bay Tang waterfall stretches over 7 km, divided into seven large waterfalls and thousands of smaller waterfalls.
Great challenge
To get a panoramic view of the Bay Tang waterfall, visitors of Vietnam package Tours will need to trek more than ten kilometers of jungle trails directed by indigenous people, climb to the top of the waterfall to miniature the entire waterfall into the eyes. Viewed from the top of the falls, Huoi Dan stream flows through the Pu Hoat primary forest, pours down the cliffs like the white splendy dragon in the thousands of water droplets making the visitors wish to scream comfortably. There are soft waterfalls as white silk strip, wrapping around the hundred-year-old tree trunk with dense moss and mistletoe, which creates a fascinating ink painting.
A long time ago, this land took place the geological tectonic formation, so there are many majestic mountains with unique fracture, after the weathering process for thousands of years, the mountains here have become more strange and interesting. Stones and water in the falls intertwine each other, creating a unique wonder.
There are also stones that have been abraded, as smooth as the sliding surface. If you are a risky adventurer, try the feeling of sliding waterfall. It is not dangerous because, at the end of the waterfall, there is a very safe puddle of water, there are also protective ropes and indigenous people standing to support you.
The majesty and the charm are what tourists of the tours in Vietnam feel when visiting Bay Tang waterfall. However, the pristineness and wilderness create the attraction here. If you have a chance to visit West of Nghe An, it is great to come to Pu Hoat to admire Bay Tang waterfall, drink the cool water of Huoi Dan stream, immerse yourself in the poetic painting of this white silk strip among the monumental mountains, let your soul be bathed in this pristine beauty.
